You might have noticed, maybe, that artwise I've done nothing for months. I blame the year-long challenge bint I went on. Usually, challenges are good -- I'm horrible at accomplishing things if they don't have a deadline, so a challenge where somebody else provides both the idea and the deadline? Pretty good, for me. The problem is that I am also a horrible procrastinator, and get really surly under you-must-do-this-pressure. And once I start feeling obligated to do my hobby...even less fun!

So I've done nothing! And it's been really positive. I feel more generally creative; my new media projects have been a lot of fun, and I'm enjoying poking at them; I had a blast redoing my layout so much and likewise am having a grand time making a lot of icons. Apparently I only have so much artistry in my body?

On another positive note, after months of feeling surly and bitter about art, I'm getting back around to the point where occasionally I find myself going "...I sort of want to draw ", which is...encouraging. I think I'm going to continue on nurturing that, not mentioning to anybody what it is I want to be doing, so if I do or do not do it it's entirely up to me, with no expectation or obligation.

However I will be finishing my inkwash projects that I started a couple weeks ago. I want to go ahead and get them matted and framed so they'll be ready to enter into an art contest when Mrs. Kinlaw gives me the word. My goal is to get all four of them completed by the New York trip. Hopefully I can make that goal XP
